Damn, it feels good to be out of Las Vegas.  There are few things as exciting as the World Series of Poker, and few things as relieving as when it is over.  I am so happy to be in gorgeous, cooler, and much more relaxed Los Angeles, that I just don't know what to do with myself...

Overall I was extremely happy with how I played at the Rio.  I rarely didn't make it to a dinner break, I was always in contention if I was still in when we made the money, and I had many, many, shots to do something big.  Of course I wasn't able to translate those shots into actually doing something, but at the end of the day all you can do is play your ass off and put yourself into contention, and I feel like I did that.

It seemed that when I busted late in an event it was almost always do to taking a bit of a beat, rather than to me making the wrong move and putting myself into a bad situation.  That said, I am comfortable letting the WSOP '07 go and moving on.  While I'm not satisfied with the results, there isn't much more that I think I could have done...

On to greener pastures...

I'm back in LA and enjoying myself.  You can actually walk outside without needing the aid of some sort of breathing apparatus due to the heat, and that in itself is a victory.  Went and saw Daft Punk last week and the show was pretty amazing.  They somehow found a way to turn the entire LA Sports Arena into a massive club, and everyone inside was dancing their asses off...it was a cool site to see.

Other than that, I have just been relaxing and taking it easy since I got home.  I'm going to see one of my favorite live bands, Cowboy Mouth, tomorrow night at the Roxy.  They are a New Orleans bar rock band that, while occassionally lacking some skill of other bands, NEVER lack the intensity of anyone.  They grab the audience and completely throttle them for the 2+ hours that they are there, and it is quite a site to behold.

That's all I got, really.  I could report on my individual naps, but I feel like that just might get a little boring.  There shouldn't be too much going on until the Bike in August...

I'll try and get into some non-poker related trouble before that and give you guys the heads-up there...

Aaaaaaahhhh, it's nice to have a Summer...

peace,
J
