August 12, 2007 (Las Vegas, NV) - The National Poker League, an international poker organization, announced today they have joined forces with The Venetian Resort~Hotel~Casino in Las Vegas to host the 2007 Vegas Open, scheduled November 24th – 30th, and the World Championship Tournament on December 3rd. The Venetian Poker Room will also serve as the home base for the NPL Broadcast Center for all 26-episodes of the NPL television series airing nationally and internationally to more than a projected 100-million viewers.

VEGAS OPEN
The 2nd Annual NPL Vegas Open, returns to Las Vegas with a new “home” at The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino for a week of exciting No limit, Texas Hold’em tournaments at the luxurious Poker Room at The Venetian.  Play begins on Sunday, November 25th and concludes on Sunday, December 2nd.  The winner will also take home a unique Silver-plated “Vegas Open Cup” that has been designed especially for the NPL.  The Vegas Open will be televised nationally and on international broadcast channels.  The Vegas Open will kick off with a Charity Party on November 24th that will raise funds for a local charity in conjunction with NPL’s “Poker Cares” program.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

The World Championship Tournament wraps up this year’s global circuit of NPL sponsored poker tournaments. Winners from each of the global events (listed below) will return for a $15,000 buy-in on December 3rd; also to be held at The Venetian.

The Venetian Poker Room will also serve as the home base for the NPL Broadcast Center. Hosts of the NPL television program, Las Vegas radio personality, Dave Farra, and professional poker player, Kirk Morrison, will provide viewers with professional reports of the action at each of the tournaments, including commentary, “Play of the Day” and interviews with the players, tournament directors, and champions. 

NPL has partnered with MOJO HD, the High Definition network broadcast via all cable systems in the U.S.); WGN Superstation via cable and satellite operators nationwide; and on the major U.S. markets served by most of the CBS-owned stations via syndication.
