The WSOP has kicked off. I folded myself to a cash in the 2nd event I played and feel semi ashamed. Usually I go big or go home around the bubble, but I just couldn’t do it this time. The result was a pretty unimpressive 250th place in the 1500 NL HE. Still nice get a cash early on…
I took one week off ahead of the Series to relax, went skyding and surfing to CA, and felt super strong going into the WSOP. Three days, two tournaments, a lot of Chinese and online poker later I feel completely destroyed. I can’t believe I managed to burn myself out in three days. I basically pulled two all online nighters and went straight to the WSOP with little or no sleep.
At least I managed to do well online, playing PLO 25/50 – 200/400, and can now in a sense free roll the entire WSOP. Not bad for three days play. Today I finally got some rest in and actually found time to write my first blog entry.
My idea was to write more of a lifestyle blog, rather than poker blog, but with 14h of tournament play and 6h of online play a day the only non poker related thing I can write about is how comfy med bed at THEhotel is. Pretty lame…
As far as I’m concerned tomorrow is my biggest day of the series. The day of the 5K re-buy PLO. PLO is my best game and with a 5K re-buy this baby could get expensive… Hope I do well; this is the one I want to win!
As I’m writing this I’m getting ready to go to the Light nightclub at the Bellagio with fellow Full Tilt Pro Roland de Wolfe and online wonder kid Sorel Mizzi. I guess I owe Sorel at least one drink for leaking his quote about the Ladies event at the WSOP being like the Special Olympics of Poker. The quote came somewhat out of context, but I thought it was hilarious and I just couldn’t help myself. Rest assured that neither Sorel, nor I, meant any disrespect to the Special Olympics or the Ladies Event.
P.S. As I was trying to figure out how the heck to post this blog on Pokerwire.com Roland “lazy pig” de Wolfe has just ruled out going to Light due to a sudden case of sleepiness. I suspect he might be playing online Chinese poker…
