Why i never win at poker....

Soooo, i was just doing my end of the night update reading and saw a post that pretty much sums up why i don't win... just picture me being the guy that bets the 10k on the river!!

and on a sidenote...can anybody tell me why you would call a guy "jeffrey" when his name is Jack?? that is my deep burning thought after 6 weeks of the rio...

The Loudest Cheer For The Oldest Player
A roar just went up in the far corner of the Amazon Room. What was it for? The best misread hand of the tournament. Jack "Jeffrey" Ury, who at 94 years young is the oldest player in the tournament, has just more than doubled up. In middle position, Jack called with two players limping before him. The big blind raised it up to 3,000 and only Jack made the call. The flop was 4d 7d Th   and both players checked. The turn was the 9d and once again both players checked. The river paired the board with the Ts , and the big blind fired out a 10,000 bet, enough to put Jack all in. Jack was unable to see the board properly, so the dealer moved it over until it was right in front of him. He checked and rechecked both the board and his hole cards and then announced "I call, I got a straight!" At this point he rolled over pocket sixes -- no straight, just two pair, but it was enough to win the pot. His opponent mucked and the gallery let out the loudest cheer we have yet heard. hopefully my streak of not winning will end in the bellagio cup 3 main event which starts tomorrow. more poker, hip hip hooray!!!! i swear im taking a break after this week....do i sound bitter?

well thats it for my wsop.....im out of the main event....here is a quick recap of my bustout, a few hands before dinner, as i mentioned earlier, i ran into AA and lost about 10k... when the tourney resumed after dinner, about 5 hands in, a player raised to 1500 i called with AQdd...flop came Q-T-3 rainbow he bet 3k and i called...turn was a small card like a 5 i think....and he now fires out 8k....i thought for a while and finally said "well i guess you have KK, i fold" the player turned over the kings and i felt great about dodging the bullet....until about 3 hands later when i limp with K7ss....L/agg player on my left raises to 2k, i call....flop 9-7-6 i check and he bets 5k.....now there is a bit over 10k in the pot and i have about 15k left...i decided that his bet seemed weak (maybe AQ or AK) so i shoved allin and got insta called by AA....GG me     pretty sweet to run into AA, KK and AA in a stretch of about 10 hands

PS. anybody know of some tourneys that don't have dinner break?? i thinks thats my only shot.... oh yeah, no dinner break online!! cya on full tilt

WHAMMY!

we are currently on dinner break and i just ran into my first whammy. I was moved off of my initial starting table to one where i don't recognize a single player. That may sound like a good thing but, in my book, it's not. the first thing i noticed was that the avg stack on the table was over 50k which is HUGE. i played tight for about an hour and silently laughed to myself as i watched pot after pot being playing with marginal hands for huge amounts and the mistakes were monsterous. i finally got involved in a pot in which i my oppenent had AA and i had a busted draw... the hand cost me about 10k overall and my stack sits at 20k now.
