So.... seat 1, aka annoying guy, turns out to be champie douglas.  Not someone you would be afraid of but a good player none the less.  He raises to 2200 in middle position on my big blind of 800.  I call with AQ and the flop comes AT6 and i check.  first mistake.  Champie checks behind me as the turn is a blank.  I bet 5500 and he quickly calls.  The river is a J and i push all in.  I get a call.

I open my AQ and champie shows JT off. GG.

I should have fired at the flop and pushed all in on the turn.  i dont think he can call in that position and i'll pick up the pot right there.  fuck i hate the rio.  I can't wait to get out of here.

My world series consisted of 6 events, 22.5k in buy ins, 65 hours of play, and one cash of 2600.  With last longer bets and a  cash i spent 4600 to play all those events and kill all that time.  Thank gawd for blackjack cause i'm up 3500 for the trip but lets not talk about roulette.  I got enough to play a sat for the bellagio cup tomorrow...  maybe i'll just walk over to chipolte and get a burrito.  that has a guaranteed positive outcome.

i gotta poop.

Bah! Nothing going on. Can't hit a flop and when I get all in its AcKc vs AdKs and I can't hit my flush. At least I didn't lose. Time to squeeze it and make something happen. Or fold to tomorrow. -JDN

Ding! Dinner break! Snap!

Started off with 7k at the begining of the 3nd level and I pretty much had my tournament life on the line with 9d9c. I raised it up to 1200 preflop and got two callers. The flopski brought 6cJc2d and I bet out 2k and the random old guy with the new shirt raised to 5k. Random asian guy folds and after a few moments of donkey thought, I called.
Old guy then proceeds to check it down with me. Wtf? Flush draw? I show my 9s and drag the pot. Okay... I'll take it. I don't show any of my hands for the rest of the level and I run my stack up to 45k. SNAP! Its miller time!

Grinded down to 6k when I doubled up with aces against queens. Since then I keep completely missing flops and getting reraised.
Random old guy and random interet player have been busted and were replced by random old guy #2 and random euro with bad skin and bad facial hair. Maybe I'll introduce him to jessica simpson's world of proactive. The highlights of the day include watching the video of Helmuth crash a nascar and gavin farting while swinging in wii baseball. In middle position I look down at KdKh and make a stanard raise to 300. Seat 8 calls and Annoying Guy in seat 1 reraises to 1300. I think about it for a minute before re-re-raising another 2500. Seat 8 folds and before his cards hit the muck Annoying Guy re-re-reraises another 5500. Hmmm. He could have aces here. So I call.
I figure to I'm going to need to gamble in a few spots on the way to the final table. Or at least on the way to dinner break. If I hit the king I'm going to get all of his chips and if I'm wrong I can get away from the hand. The flop falls 9sQs2d. No decision here. I check and Annoying guy insta-shoves. After few seconds of deep thought I fold the kings face up. Annoying tries to muck his hand but ego gets in the way and pulls the two cards out of the muck to show them to the table. He proceeds to tell me that it was a good lay down. No shit sherlock! I respond by telling him it was an easy lay down and I almost layed it down preflop. Oh well. Down to 10k. This is where fun begins! Table draw: Seat 1 - annoying guy (raising a lot then thinking for 5 minutes when some one raises him. Now he's playing with milwaukee's best light (aka the beast) flash light thingy.) Seat 2 - random middle aged dude. ( Wearing a nice dress shirt he bought just for the tournament) Seat 3 - Larry aka Mr Wobbles ( his shirt has his name on it and he has a severe case of the wobbles. In fact its probably a medical condition) Seat 4 - Santa Clause (he's lost some weight, trimmed his hair, and sporting a generous ammount of bling, but I swear its him.) Seat 5 - random young guy (tried to raise the first hand of the tourney to 150 with blinds at 50/100. Maybe he thought it was a limit tournament.) Seat 6 - random asian guy Seat 7 - random old dude Seat 8 - JDN Seat 9 - random internet qualifier Seat 10 - random asian guy

Doesn't look like I'll be getting my honorary dinner break bracelet. I lost all my money in stud 8 being out drawn or bricking on 5th and 6th street. I expected it to be a quick tournament for a lot of those people and I just happend to be one of them. No spectactular bad beats or suck outs. No fireworks or drama, barely enough action to stay awake. A fizzle out if you will. Oh well, its Miller time! -JDN

After last night's monumentaly successful inner bubble finish in the $1500, I decided to take my winnings, $900 plus a $100 donation from the pocket book, and play the $1k S.H.O.E. tournament.
Table draw somewhat bland. Stud players are generally a boring lot. So much so that Erik Seidel is taking mini-siestas in between hands. Seat 1 - JDN (the hero of this adventure) Seat 2 - the 'stache (I've seen this guy around a lot but have no idea what his name is. He is also taking cat naps at the table.) Seat 3 - Random nerdy guy ( plays tight as a drum) Seat 4 - Dave (pretty sure this the guy from live at the bike and he likes to chat up seat 5) Seat 5 - Erik "I was in rounders damn it!" Seidel Seat 6 - random bad internet player Seat 7 - random horrible player (cannot read his hands without holding the cards up and doesn't understand the concept of being quarter in omaha) Seat 8 - random non-descript guy (his jacket sleeves are a bit short.) Well i finally busted my wsop cash cherry last night. I squeaked into the money at about 1:30am after coming back from dinner break with double the average stack. When we were 2 off the money bubble i found myself on the button with Ad6d and it was folded me. There were two big stacks to my left but i shipped it anyway with my small but intimidating stack. I figured it would be pretty cool to bubble two wsop tourneys in the same year. Oh well, made 2600 and i can afford to buy into the shoe tournament tonight. Prepare for hot bubble Action!! -JDN

Dinner Break yo!

Made another dinner break with 33k. I wish that we got paid for surviving dinner break, then I would be a break even player at the wsop this year.
I made two donk moves today that worked out in my favor. First time it was folded to me in the small blind and with Ah2h and I raise it up as any normal poker player would. Big blind almost insta-calls and I bet out on a flop of 3d3s5s as he reraises me. I push all in before his chips hit the felt. For some reason as soon as I saw the flop I was prepared to go all in. Its my cat like sixth sense coming into play. He calls with little hesitation, I'm thinking hes got a flush draw, and flips over the big Kh3h. Dang! But I got out!!! Turn is Jc and the river flows into the very sexy 4h. Snap! That's a strizzlate! Double up to 28k. In the other hand I make a stanard raise under the gun with 66, get one caller before Matt Matros pushes in for about 6k. I think about for a second before pushing all in hoping the other guy would. Of course he fold and Matt flips over pocket tens. Since this is a donk story the river has to be 6. As Matt was walking away he said, "I knew it was coming, I just wanted see what color it was." Snap. Quote if the Tournament: "Oh you pros and your big stacks... " -seat 3 referring to my stack of chips Oh if he only knew... -JDN

nine duece off no goot?! wtf?

Up to 22k in chips when I decide to raise with the ole' 29 off. Big blind asks how much and calls. The flop comes J2J and I get min raised after a bet. A bet on the 6 turn and I called followed by another bet on the river 9 and I call. D'oh. He turns up aces.
Who's the donk? Me of course. I still have around 15k and the player thought I had QQ. He also asked me twice after the hand and once during break if I had the ladies so I guess it might be good for my table image. Unless he reads this... Whatever I can barely count my chips out and verbalize raizes. I got no table image. -JDN
